I got a call from a long time friend who I’ve gotten into using Macs. He took his MacBook Pro to his hunting lease and of course the machine ended up in the mud. He brought it over last weekend and I’ve been dreading what I’ll find when I open the case. Last night, I bit the bullet and opened it up. Hard drive is still good so his data is recoverable but the logic board is coated in dried dirt. That was enough heartache for one night so the machine sits in pieces while I drum up the desire and time to clean the entire inside of the machine with a sterile Q-tip, let it dry for a day or two, then say a prayer as I put it back together… A little advice, don’t take your thousand dollar laptop to the great outdoors. That’s what iPhones and iPads are for.
